Melina Arcidiácono from Soft Matter Laboratory - INIFTA - Argentina, joined the LiST Team at DPU as a visiting PhD student under the LungCare Project from June 2024 to February 2025. Her research topic is focused on developing a new sensor platform, based on Metal-Organic Frameworks and Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy for the detection of biomarkers related to Lung Cancer.
The LungCare project, approved by the EU as part of the HORIZON-MSCA-2022-SE-01 program, focuses on developing a range of technological tools and nanomedicine-based formulations. These innovations include nano-formulations for inhaled drug delivery to treat acute pneumonia, POC formats for Tuberculosis (TB), and sensors for lung cancer.
The LungCare team is an international, interdisciplinary, and inter-sectoral consortium of leading scientists and specialists committed to tackling lung diseases such as pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, and cancer.
